How to Adopt a Golden Retriever Puppy in Ontario from Us
Adopting a puppy is very simple and can be done in 4 easy steps. They're outlined below.
Step 1 - Fill Out the Puppy Inquiry Form
If you’ve decided that you’re ready for a new family member, namely an English Cream Golden Retriever puppy, you should start by filling out the Puppy Inquiry Form below. It’s very straightforward and takes less than 5 minutes.
Once you fill it out, we will contact you if your answers are sufficient and you’re approved to adopt one of our puppies. If you’re not approved, we will contact you to find out more information and clear up some questions.
Step 2 - Provide a Deposit to Join Our Waitlist
Our puppies cost $3,700 to adopt. To join our waitlist for a puppy, you’ll need to provide a $200 partial deposit. It's refundable if we won't have enough puppies in the next litter or the timing doesn't work out for you.
Once a litter is born, another $300 deposit (for $500 total) is due to reserve one of the puppies for you from that born litter. Once a puppy is reserved for you from the born litter, the full $500 deposit becomes non-refundable.
Deposits need to be sent via e-transfer to payment@buygoldenretrievers.ca. You could also pay the deposit using cash if you come in-person. The deposit is used as the first portion of the full payment for the puppy.

Step 3 - Pick a Golden Retriever Puppy
There are a few different ways you can pick your English Cream Golden Retriever puppy. This can only be done when we have puppies available for adoption after a litter was born and after the puppies have received their first set of vaccinations, which occurs when they are 6-7 weeks old.
Assuming a recent litter was just born, you can either check out the photos of our available puppies on our site and pick the one you like there. Alternatively, we can schedule a video call to show you each puppy and you could pick one. We will use Google Meet for the call, so make sure you have the application available on your computer or phone.
If you'd like, we can arrange an in-person viewing for you to interact with the puppies and choose your favorite.
Each puppy has a different coloured collar. Once you pick the one you want to reserve, let us know by emailing us or texting/calling 647-239-0570 or by telling us know via video call or in-person.
We can also help guide you in the selection of your puppy based on the answers you provided when you filled out the Puppy Inquiry Form.
To schedule a day and time via video call or an in-person visit, contact us. We are located 30 minutes East of Toronto in the Durham Region in Ontario, Canada. Depending on the litter, it will either be in Pickering, Ontario at Westcreek Dr or Whitby, Ontario at Heaver Dr. We are one family under one kennel, but some of the females are in Pickering and the others are in Whitby.
Please note, for small litters (4 puppies or less), we do not schedule a puppy picking date because there is not much choice. You'll get to meet your puppy on the pickup date instead.

Step 4 - Pick Up Your New Family Member
On the agreed upon day and time (rehoming date), you will need to come to our location in Whitby or Pickering to pick up your new puppy. This needs to be at 8 weeks after the puppies are born. At this point, your new English Cream Golden Retriever puppy would have already been dewormed, microchipped, got their first few vaccinations, and health-checked by the vet.
Your puppy must be picked up by the rehoming date unless other arrangements have been agreed upon or we will charge a $50.00 boarding fee per day until your puppy is picked up. Also, payment in full is required if the puppy is being picked up past 8 weeks of age.
You will need to sign our purchasing agreement upon pickup and pay the balance owed for the puppy. When you pick them up, we will provide you with a small blanket with the mother’s and siblings’ scent. This is so that the puppy can more easily transition to a new home. You can also choose to opt-in for complimentary 30-day free pet insurance from Trupanion. We will also provide you with a bag of starter food. This is the kibble brand you should feed your puppy for the first little while: Purina Pro Plan Puppy Lamb and Rice Formula. You can switch it gradually over a couple of weeks if you choose. If you switch it right away, the puppy may have diarrhea, additional stress and other complications since his or her stomach is very sensitive when they're 2-3 months old.
